Background

In order to face the recent cybersecurity attacks that hit the global economy and efficiently respond to a more connected economy, the Commission revised its 2013 Cybersecurity Strategy in September 2017. The mandate of the EU Agency for Network and Information Society (ENISA) is being reviewed so as to align it to the NIS Directive requirements and expand its mandate. As expected the new strategy aims to develop measures on cybersecurity certifications and Member States’ cooperation, FleishmanHillard believes this Commission initiative will be of key importance for businesses involved in the digital economy (tech, energy, transport, health, banking, financial).
