Lunch roundtable
CO2 emissions standards for cars and vans: the road ahead
Tuesday, 28 November 2017 – 12.30h to 14.00h (light lunch from 12.00h)
FleishmanHillard, Square de Meeûs 35, 1000 Brussels
Keynote introduction by
Artur Runge-Metzger
Director, European Commission DG for Climate Action (CLIMA)
The FH Transport and Energy Teams would like to invite you for a roundtable on the post-2020 CO2 standards for cars and vans. The Commission is expected to reveal the 2nd Mobility Package on Wednesday 8 November. On top of actions on alternative fuels infrastructure and clean vehicle procurement, it will also, crucially, include a Regulation on CO2 emissions standards beyond 2020 (for cars) and 2021 (for vans). We are delighted to host Artur Runge-Metzger, who will give an opening statement to help understand the key elements of the proposal, after which the floor will be open for questions and a discussion among policymakers, industry and NGO representatives.
In this FH Roundtable, we will take a closer look at the proposal to understand the specific regulatory decisions taken on the targets’ level and timing, the kind of utility parameter, rewards for off-cycle reductions and incentives to increase the market uptake of low- and zero-emission vehicles.
Please RSVP before Thursday 23 November 2017.
To ensure this conversation is as fruitful as possible for you, please mention in your RSVP one ‘burning’ question you have on the CO2 emissions framework post-2020 and we will make sure this is addressed during the discussion.
