Ahead of his much anticipated appearance before the European Parliament later in the day, senior representatives for Member States and the banking sector braved a rainy Brussels dawn to attend. Against the backdrop of ongoing work to revise the EU framework for bank capital, discussion focused on the Basel Committee’s ongoing work to finalise the global “Basel III” banking standards.
