Roundtable on EU Carbon Market Reforms: What Next for the ETS?

As the debate over backloading of EU ETS allowances looks to be moving to a positive outcome, FleishmanHillard, Oxera and SSE would be delighted to invite you to a roundtable on the next steps for reform of the EU ETS with:

Niels Ladefoged, Cabinet of Commissioner Hedegaard
Sarah Deblock, International Emissions Trading Association
Martin Pibworth, Managing Director of Energy Portfolio Management, SSE
Tomas Wyns, European Director, CCAP

and chaired by:
Michael Kraus, Associate Director, Oxera

With the EU ETS struggling to provide a robust carbon price signal for low carbon investors, the roundtable will look to discuss whether an increase in the linear reduction factor for the ETS is enough to drive investment decisions toward carbon abatement technologies, or whether allowance cancellations or a Supply Adjustment Mechanism are required as next steps for reform of the EU ETS.

The roundtable will take place on Friday 6 December between 11am and 1pm at FleishmanHillard Brussels office (2nd Floor, 35 Square de Meeûs, 1000 Brussels). A light lunch will be provided following the event.

Since participant numbers are limited, we would appreciate if you could register for the roundtable as soon as possible.
