Claudio Murri, Senior Advisor at FleishmanHillard, moderated a panel on People, internet & machines in a world of unlimited data at the AmCham Conference – 5th Annual Transatlantic Digital Economy on 29 November 2017.

The panel discussed how business and society is transformed through the Internet of Things. While Pearse O’Donohue, Acting Director of the Future Networks Directorate, Head of Unit for Cloud and Software, DG CONNECT presented the measures the Commission had adopted to build trust and confidence, MEP Dita Charanzová deplored that the Commission Cybersecurity Package wasn’t ambitious enough.

Ernst Stöckl Pukall, Head of division for digitisation and Industrie 4.0, German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi), provided some insights on the work carried out by its Ministry to adapt the manufacturing sector to digital manufacturing.

Finally, representatives from Cisco, Dell and Einride presented the new eco-systems the industry is building towards new ways of living, working and leisure in smart societies. The technology is there and business are already capturing all the benefits with a view to enable many real-life benefits.
