Success in EU public affairs, regardless of whether you’re an NGO, an industry rep, an academic or a lobbying watchdog, means cultivating trusted relationships with the people who matter to you.

Rarely does a “policy success” come to fruition without some successful personal interaction between at least two interested parties. The days of building these relationships in dark, smoke-filled back rooms are gone. Transparency is the new normal, which means the requisite (and often awkward) courtship now happens out in the open.
