FleishmanHillard’s Brussels office has an immediate opening for a management level EU Public Affairs and Communications Professional in the field of Healthcare with 5+ years relevant working experience in European policy issues.

Our Healthcare team consists of 6 full-time consultants advising a range of organizations including blue-chip international healthcare companies, health associations and campaigning charities. We develop integrated communications campaigns that engage a wide range of audiences, addressing regulatory issues and matters of political importance. Specifically, we advise our clients on their dialogue and negotiations with EU and pan-European policy makers and institutions and develop the wider advocacy strategies that support this engagement.  We also work closely with European patient advocacy associations.


The Position

We are looking for an experienced public affairs and communications professional across a varied portfolio of therapy areas, to join this fast-growing practice. The successful candidate will direct a number of communications and advocacy programmes, and work in close partnership with clients as a trusted advisor. As a member of our practice, the Consultant will actively participate to wider management activity such as business development and people management.


Experience & skills required:

Candidates will have 5+ years of working experience relating to either EU level or national healthcare policy or a linked area. This experience should ideally be acquired working with the EU institutions, in-house or through a consultancy firm. Alternatively, candidates will have 5+ years of consultancy experience and show a willingness to dive into the world of European health policy.

The successful candidate will have:

  • An established track record of work experience relating to EU level pharmaceutical and consumer health areas or established consultancy experience.
  • An experienced level advisor and project leader
  • Manage and direct a number of communications and advocacy programs
  • Formulate successful, influential public affairs campaign and stakeholder communications strategies
  • Strong business acumen and appreciation of the commercial impact of policy decisions
  • An entrepreneurial approach to client servicing and business development
  • Excellent capability as an advisor, including first class communication and writing skills
  • Ability to solve problems and exercise excellent judgment with the ability to think ‘outside of the box.’
  • Understanding of agency financials and experience budgeting projects.
  • Dynamic team player and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to offer high-level advice on the spot
